Cleanrooms are essential to any manufacturing process where contamination can affect the quality of a product. We adhere to strict protocols that meet the demands of industries requiring ISO 14644 Cleanroom specifications.  Our cleanroom molding and cleanroom assembly operations exceed 10,000 square feet and are certified to ISO Class 8 standards, and follow good manufacturing practices (GMP). Press sizes run from 22 to 245 tons.

The world of high-temperature resins is filled with options. Some of the commonly used plastic resins include PEEK (Victrex), PPA (Amodel), PAI (Torlon), PPS (Ryton, Fortron), PEI (Ultem) and a host of other engineered grades. At PTI, we work with an array of high-heat materials and can obtain these resins in a variety of colors. 

PTI is well versed and experienced with many applications for insert molding.  We commonly insert mold around threaded inserts, metal stems, studs, and cannulas.  This process happens within both vertical and horizontal injection molding machines.  Insert molding helps avoid secondary processing resulting in less work in process.

PTI supports many programs that require overmolded parts or products.  This is commonly a handle, knob or component needing a soft touch grip.  The overmold material is commonly a TPE or other soft durometer material over a more rigid substrate.   The injection overmolding process is done by employing two separate molds as a premold and an overmold.  This process is typically used as a functional need but can also be aesthetic in nature.

PTI’s advanced precision inspection and testing abilities address a spectrum of dimensional and functional product specifications and requirements. Our capabilities support comprehensive inspection actions ranging from receiving to final audit, as well as first article layouts, full AIAG PPAP and IQ, OQ, PQ Process Validation Submissions.

Mold Design

Mold Design is a crucial step in the injection molding process. Once you’ve finalized your part in CAD software for fit and function, it must then be transformed into a design for molding to ensure the capture of all the specified details. In some cases, certain features of the part design may not be manufacturable via the injection molding process.
