At PTI we realize that as we go about our day-to-day business, it’s easy to lose sight of the trials facing those in our community and in the world around us. That’s why we at PTI provide outlets for our employees to get involved. By encouraging a positive “giveback” attitude, we know we can have a tremendous impact and influence on the quality of peoples’ lives. Here are just a few events that we’re proud to say we’ve been an integral part of:
Clinton River Cleanup
At PTI Engineered Plastics, we are big believers in environmental protection and waste reduction of our natural resources. In a continuing effort to give back to the planet, PTI employees volunteer at the Clinton River Cleanup every September, picking up debris, removing invasive species, and stenciling storm drains. The Clinton Clean-Up, sponsored by the Clinton River Watershed Council, is an annual campaign whose success depends on the combined effort of hundreds of individuals, businesses, local governments, and community organizations.
First Robotics Team
PTI sponsors young people to be science and technology leaders. Yearly, we sponsor three robotics teams from our community. These events teach students important life skills. FIRST was started in 1989 to inspire young people’s interest and participation in science and technology.
Holiday Pantry Project
PTI employees again participated in the “Holiday Pantry Project” to aid the hundreds of people seeking food assistance. Employees’ enthusiastically contributed canned and dried food packages for those who were experiencing hunger and hardship.
Holiday Season Adopt a Family
During the holiday season PTI employees organize a gift basket raffle with proceeds going towards adopting local families to provide them with Christmas gifts and pantry items and supporting the Society of St Vincent DePaul.
PTI and PTI Design are proud to partner in sponsoring the Little Inventors Program. Little Inventors is a creative education organization that inspires imagination by taking children’s amazing ideas seriously. Student inventors are given a challenge and “makers” help bring them to life. In 2021, PTI was the first company in the United States to participate as a program maker when it launched in Macomb County, Michigan.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer
Nearly 250,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. The American Cancer Society holds Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events so anyone touched by breast cancer won’t have to face their diagnosis alone. Every three-five mile Making Strides walk in which PTI participates is a powerful and inspiring opportunity to unite as a community to honor breast care survivors, and raise awareness about the steps we can take to reduce the risk of getting breast cancer.
PTI is a proud sponsor and host of Manufacturing Day held in October each year around the country.
Manufacturing Day is a national campaign designed to increase awareness about the important role manufacturing plays in our economy. The goal of Manufacturing Day is to dispel misperceptions that manufacturing is dirty, dangerous and financially unrewarding, and hopes to reduce the shortage of skilled labor by connecting manufacturers with future generations.
PTI Vehicle Show
Each summer PTI hosts a Vehicle Show for the community. In addition to the show there are family activities, games, and a bar-b-que luncheon. Employees and local “car buffs” enter their vehicles in the show, and all funds raised are donated to a local charity, which in past years has included the Macomb County Food Bank and Care House of Macomb County.
Relay For Life
PTI is a proud sponsor of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life event held each spring in Shelby Township Michigan.
Relay for Life is a signature fundraising event for the American Cancer Society, supporting local patient service programs like “Road to Recovery” and “Look Good Feel Good,” as well as providing funding for research grants awarded each year to scientists and students dedicated to discovering new treatments and the potential cure for cancer.
Relay for Life is held in 5,200 communities in the United States and 27 countries around the world. The first Relay for Life was held in 1985, and since that time more than $5 billion dollars has been raised for the fight against cancer. For more information visit www.cancer.org.
Turning Point, Inc.
PTI is proud to support Turning Point Services to End Domestic and Sexual Violence in Macomb County. Each year employees at PTI participate in a year end clothing drive to support Turning Point and their Secondhand Rose consignment shop.
Winter Giving Tree
In a continuing effort to keep our community in-need warm during the winter months, PTI places a “Winter Giving Tree” in the facility through the holidays, where employees can hang their donations of new hats, mittens, gloves, and scarves for all ages.
